Q&A With Morgan of Montipi

Tell us a little about yourself and how Montipi began…

I’m from the south of France — Mediterranean sun, sea, and a love of detail. When I moved to Australia, I fell for the effortless natural elegance here and discovered the world of boho: freedom, personal style, a mix of vintage, eclectic and romantic influences. I started blending that with a French touch — pieces with craftsmanship, structure and refinement — and realised how beautifully chic sophistication can elevate bohemian ease.

For years I struggled to find accessories that felt like me: detailed, well-made, elegant yet free-spirited. I didn’t find that place — so I created it. Montipi brings chic, considered pieces to the boho world: distinctive details, couture-leaning finishes and natural elegance, for women who want unique pieces that last.

What inspires your selection and how do you choose pieces?

Uniqueness, detail, interest. I’m obsessed with details — every piece needs that something. It doesn’t have to be loud, but it must feel special: dreamy colours, beautiful leather grain, refined hardware, an engraved chain, a sculpted silhouette, intricate beading or pearls. I look for that instant this is so me moment and the quality to back it up.

Why bags and accessories?

Accessories are the small things that change everything — they lift a look and express individuality. A pair of whimsical earrings or a beautifully made leather bag adds dimension and mood in seconds. My selection is intentionally eclectic so free-spirited dreamers can create their own signatures from city to resort, and everyday mood.

You place a big emphasis on quality and longevity — can you share more?

I believe beautiful things should be made to last. Our Italian leather bags are handcrafted in Tuscany using traditional, responsible techniques, with premium leather and refined hardware. To me, timeless means trust: a piece you can return to again and again — it won’t disappoint you or give up on you.

Nina × Montipi — what’s special about this collaboration?

We design for the same woman: a free-spirited dreamer who loves statement pieces, beautifully made that feel personal. Nina’s sculpted, sun-lit silhouettes invite texture and character; Montipi brings the textural finish — pearly shells, refined leather, considered hardware. Beyond a collaboration. Is the encounter of two worlds that harmonise — sun-lit silhouettes and distinctive accessories.

What are your current favourite pieces — and how would you style them with Nina?
